WOUNDED WARRIORS CANADA ANNOUNCES 2018 HIGHWAY OF HEROES BIKE RIDES

TRENTON – Registration for the 2018 Wounded Warriors Canada Highway of Heroes Bike Ride (HHR18) is now open. The third annual event will kickoff on August 25th, 2018 at the Afghanistan Repatriation Memorial in Trenton, Ontario and will conclude at the Veterans Memorial at Queen’s Park. The ride will take a group of up to 200 Canadians on a memorable two-day cycling journey alongside the Highway of Heroes in honour of those who made the ultimate sacrifice while raising awareness and funds in support of our ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans, First Responders and their families.

Wounded Warriors Canada is proud to announce that British Columbia has been added as the second host province for the Highway of Heroes Bike Ride. In 2011, a dedication ceremony was held in British Columbia to officially rename a section of the Trans-Canada highway, between Langley and Abbotsford, the Highway of Heroes. It was the second such designation in Canada. Both rides will take place on the same weekend.

Scott Maxwell, Executive Director of Wounded Warriors Canada, commented, “The Highway of Heroes Bike Ride is not just another cycling event. This unique ride fosters community and participant engagement with our Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans and First Responders and honours those who made the ultimate sacrifice while raising much needed funds and awareness to support those living with Operational Stress Injuries. We are excited to add BC as the second host province and look forward to the events next year!”
