SIX NATIONS POLICE, FIRE AND PARAMEDIC SERVICES PARTNER WITH WOUNDED WARRIORS CANADA

Wounded Warriors Canada is proud to announce an historic new partnership with Six Nations Police, Fire & Emergency Services and Paramedic Services that will see the organizations work together to offer innovative mental health training and counselling services to the First Responders of Six Nation of the Grand River.

The First Responders of Six Nations are highly trained professionals who are confronted with traumatic situations that can be difficult to process due to the nature of their work. By working together, the First Responders and family members of Six Nations will receive occupationally informed services that utilize a combination of education, counselling, and training approaches to support resiliency and recovery from post-trauma injuries.

“The Six Nations Police Service and fellow First Responders from Six Nations Fire and Ambulance have collaborated with Wounded Warriors Canada. We all need to look after each and ourselves so we can look after you!” – Darren Montour, Chief of Police, Six Nations Police Service

“The teamwork between the services has led us to development of this monumental partnership with the plans to be able to arm all of our First Responders with support and education for mental health and wellness.”Michael Seth, Fire Chief, Six Nations Fire & Emergency Services

“We can no longer simply suck it up and resort to it being just another day. It’s ok to not be ok; the collaboration of our teams will better support everyone, increasing our resilience for our community.”Derek Wharrie, Chief, Six Nations Paramedics

“Given the complexities of operational stress injuries, we know that no single organization can provide the 100% solution when it comes to the mental health and wellness needs of its members and their families. Partnerships are vital. We are proud to announce this innovative new partnership with the First Responder agencies of the Six Nations of the Grand River and we look forward to working together in the months and years to come.” Scott Maxwell, Chief Executive Officer, Wounded Warriors Canada
