WHO WE ARE
Wounded Warriors Canada (WWC) is a national mental health service provider dedicated to serving
- Trauma Exposed Organizations (TExO)
- Trauma Exposed Professionals (TExP), and their
- Trauma Exposed Families (TExF)
WWC specializes in providing culturally informed services that utilize a combination of education, counselling, and training approaches to support resiliency and recovery from post-trauma injuries.
WHO WE SERVE
Trauma Exposed Professionals (TExP) – A Trauma Exposed Professional (TExP) is an individual who, through the course of their regular job duties is continually exposed to traumatic events involving actual or threatened: death, serious injury, and/or sexual violence (PTSD Criterion A, DSM-5, APA, 2013). TExPs include but are not limited to the following professions:
- Canadian Armed Forces
- Veteran
- Police Officer
- Fire Fighter
- Paramedic
- Public Safety Communicators
- Corrections Officer
- Security Officer
- Search and Rescue Personnel
TExP Programs: Recovery & Resiliency – WWC specializes in occupationally-aware, culturally-informed, group programming, using a combination of education, counselling, and training approaches, for TExP organizations, TExP’s, and their families in two essential areas:
1) Recovery for TExP individuals and their families dealing with post-trauma injuries.

2) Resiliency in TExP workplaces and at home with TExP’s and their families.

Recovery – Recovery from post-trauma injury for TExP’s requires specific interventions, member support, and community resources to flourish and be sustained. As part of its commitment to TExP recovery, WWC provides group-based programs designed to assist TExP’s and their families in recovering from post-trauma injury and illness including:

Resiliency – Resiliency for TExP’s and their families requires a combination of relevant and useable knowledge, skills practice, and ongoing social support to grow and be sustained. WWC provides group-based programs designed to assist TExP organizations, TExP’s, and their families in building resiliency at work and at home and in community.
