CITY OF BELLEVILLE, BELLEVILLE POLICE, FIRE AND HASTINGS-QUINTE PARAMEDIC SERVICES PARTNER WITH WOUNDED WARRIORS CANADA

BELLEVILLE, ONTARIO – The City of Belleville, Belleville Police Service, Belleville Fire Department and the Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services are proud to announce a partnership agreement with Wounded Warriors Canada. Through this partnership, Wounded Warriors Canada will work directly with The City of Belleville, Belleville Police Service, Belleville Fire Department and the Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services to offer their innovative mental health programs and services to their members and their families.

“Today’s announcement recognizes the fact that no one service, association, government agency, or organization will ever be the 100% solution for their members in need of mental health support. When a member is struggling, it doesn’t matter where, when or how the injury occurred. What matters is that our First Responders and their family members know that we are in this together – working to ensure they receive the help they so rightly deserve. We are proud to partner with The City of Belleville, Belleville Police Service, Belleville Fire Department and the Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services and look forward to doing our part to support their members and their families.”Scott Maxwell, Executive Director of Wounded Warriors Canada.

“ I am honoured and profoundly proud to be signing this partnership agreement on behalf of the City of Belleville. The innovative mental health services and programs offered through WWC will be invaluable to our service members and their families”. – Belleville Mayor Taso Christopher.

“We are grateful for the relationship partnership that we are entering into with the Wounded Warriors Canada. We are a unique entity in having a Tri – emergency services partnership with the wholehearted support of Mayor Christopher and the City of Belleville. It is a true reflection of the outstanding bonds and relationship that we have with our emergency services partners, our local Government, our Canadian Forces members, and the Wounded Warriors Canada. A special thanks goes out to Chief Warrant Officer (Ret) Darcy Elder for his tireless efforts in bringing this partnership to Belleville. Our first responders and their families’ thank you for what you have done for Quinte Region over the years, and thank the Wounded Warriors Canada for impacting the members and families of our military and first responders in ways that have dramatically positive results.“Chief of Belleville Police Service Ron Gignac.

“Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Service is honoured to join with our other Belleville Emergency Providers in participating with Wounded Warriors of Canada in supporting First Responders, Veterans and their families. Recognizing that we are not alone in our efforts will assist us in reaching out and connecting with those in need of support.”Chief of Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services Doug Socha.

“Many hands make light work and also help to hold one another up. We are very appreciative that we can have partnerships with Emergency Responder agencies and WWC. Building strong supports for our responders is critical to their well-being and our operational effectiveness.”Belleville Fire Chief Mark MacDonald.
