PULLING TOGETHER FUNDRAISER SURPASSES FUNDRAISING GOAL
Calgary, AB – Wounded Warriors Canada is excited to announce the Pulling Together for Mental Health event has already surpassed its fundraising goal thanks to the incredible support from the Calgary community.
Pulling Together aims to bring Calgarians together to support the mental health of our First Responders, Veterans and their families. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, organizations, and individuals, Pulling Together for Mental Health has currently raised an astounding $82,000—exceeding its original goal of $50,000.
“We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from the Calgary community,” said Rory Thompson, Event Organizer, Veteran and CPS Executive Director. “Surpassing our fundraising target before the event has even begun is a testament to how deeply Calgarians care about the mental health of our First Responders, Veterans, and their families.”
Hosted by the Calgary Police Service, the event took place Saturday with twelve teams of up to twenty rowers competing in a 7-hour stationary rowing race.
“The incredible support we have received is a testament to the care, compassion and respect Calgarians have for those who keep our country and the community safe. The theme of the event, Pulling Together, speaks directly to our organizational ethos of being in this together for mental health – and that nobody should struggle alone. We look forward to Saturday and want to thank the participants, donors, sponsors, and the Calgary Police Service for all their support.” – Scott Maxwell, Executive Director, Wounded Warriors Canada
