National Mental Health Service Provider

Robert J. Warren, MPA, AdeC, WWC Ambassador, British Columbia

Deputy Chief Constable (Ret.) Robert Warren is a proud Ambassador for Wounded Warriors Canada and a passionate advocate for trauma-informed leadership in public safety.

With over 35 years of public service, including his most recent role as Deputy Chief Constable with the Saanich Police Department in British Columbia, Robert has firsthand experience with the psychological toll of policing. His career included frontline patrol, investigations into child abuse and online exploitation, and over a decade leading crisis negotiations and critical incident responses with the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team.

In 2018, Robert and his Human Resources team led the Saanich Police Department to become the first agency in Canada to deliver Trauma Resiliency Training to all sworn and civilian members. This partnership with Wounded Warriors Canada helped to create a foundation of psychological safety and mutual support that proved vital in the aftermath of the 2022 Bank of Montreal shooting – an unprecedented act of violence in their jurisdiction that left six officers wounded and a community forever changed.

Robert remains committed to helping organizations build resilient cultures where people are supported and valued. As an Ambassador, he shares his experience to inspire leaders across Canada to prioritize mental health, reduce stigma, and adopt proactive approaches to trauma support. Robert believes deeply in the power of prevention and the strength that grows in organizations when people are genuinely seen, heard, and cared for.
