PULLING TOGETHER FOR MENTAL HEALTH BUILDS EVEN GREATER MOMENTUM IN 2025
Calgary, AB – Pulling Together for Mental Health enters 2025 with a growing community, a clear mission, and a track record of impact. What started as a simple idea has become a Calgary movement supporting the mental health of Veterans, First Responders, and their families.
Over the last two years, Pulling Together has raised $214,000 for Wounded Warriors Canada and created a space where resilience, connection, and purpose come together. The flagship seven-hour rowing event has become a symbol of what happens when people show up and stand behind those who serve.
“We are here to unite the Calgary community and show those who serve that it is okay not to be okay,” said Rory Thompson, Co-Founder of Pulling Together and Veteran. “The momentum we’ve built is real and it is so humbling to be part of it”
The event continues to grow with more teams, more supporters, and a stronger sense of unity. Beyond the rowing event, Pulling Together is expanding in 2026 with year-round wellness gatherings, resilience conversations, and local initiatives that strengthen belonging across the Veteran and First Responder community.
“Pulling Together has never been about the event, it’s about the people,” said Jade, Co-Founder. “Watching participants give everything on the rowers for seven straight hours is truly inspiring. It’s a powerful example of what happens when a community rallies behind a common purpose.”
Wounded Warriors Canada continues to lead the way in reducing stigma and delivering impactful mental health programs across the nation. Their work is literally saving lives.
“It is a privilege to stand alongside Pulling Together,” said Scott Maxwell, CEO of Wounded Warriors Canada. “The passion and commitment coming out of Calgary is extraordinary. This event is truly unique, and the impact it is having on Veterans, First Responders, and their families is deeply appreciated.”
