Steve Kowan, Runner
Steve Kowan is a Sergeant with the Victoria Police Department and has been a member with the VicPD for 23 years. This is Steve’s first year with the Wounded Warriors after being introduced to the Team by previous years runner Sgt. Daryl Baswick.
Steve’s family has a long history in various branches of the Canadian Forces including grandparents who served in WW2. Steve is also part of a long line of police officers with his father, grandfather, uncles, cousins and most recently his nephew serving.
Throughout his own career and family member’s careers, Steve has seen the profound effect the traumatic events and tragedy first responders and members of our military experience, and the effects that they bring home to their families. Steve is looking forward to showing his support for his fellow first responders, military vets and our families during the run and hopes the efforts of the Wounded Warrior Run Team help people recover from these injuries.
