Lori Timpson, Runner
Lori Timpson is a Police Officer in her 19th year of policing; she served in Ontario with the Chatham-Kent Police Service before moving to British Columbia in 2016 and joining the Saanich Police Department. Locally Lori served in Patrol and in the Detective Division before being Seconded to the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) where she currently serves. Lori has served in Major Crime, Domestic Violence, Community Patrol, Financial Crimes and Crimes against Vulnerable Persons and was an on call 24/7 Crisis Negotiator for 8 years.
Lori has been a long distance runner for 25 years and has completed 9 marathons (including Boston in 2017), countless half marathons and many 5 and 10 km run funs. As runners often do, Lori has ran in many events over the years to raise funds and awareness for causes and in 2019 Lori proudly represented Wounded Warrior Run BC as one of 7 dedicated runners on the Team running with and for our ill and injured Warriors; Canadian Armed Forces Members, Veterans, First Responders and their families.
As a proud member of the Saanich Police Department family and the spouse of Kelly, a retired 30-year member of the Canadian Armed Forces, Lori is honoured to once again join the 2020 Wounded Warrior Run BC Team as a member of their support team. Every step the Team takes along this journey, over 600 kms across this beautiful Island, will be to increase public awareness and financial support for Wounded Warriors Canada. Thanks to the financial donations of caring Canadians and Canadian businesses, Wounded Warriors Canada is able to develop and deliver mental health programs and services for Operational Stress Injuries, including PTSD, that provide life changing and family saving results for Military Members, Veterans, First Responders and their families.
We are all truly in this together, and together we will Honour the Fallen and Help the Living.
