Lane Douglas-Hunt, Runner
Lane Douglas-Hunt is a police officer with the Victoria Police Department for the past 13 years. She has been blessed with an exciting and fulfilling career in law enforcement thus far and is currently serving as a detective in the Special Victims Unit.
She is beyond honored to participate in this year’s Wounded Warrior run as believes whole heartedly that WWC is saving the lives of her brothers and sisters on the front lines. Lane has never been a long-distance runner so this has proven to be quite the challenge however, she is highly motivated by this cause and will give it her absolute best.
There are two main reasons she is excited to participate in this run. First, Lane wants to raise a lot of money to help support the local heroes that put their mental and physical lives on the line every day to serve our communities. The second is to do whatever she can to keep this conversation going. Lane knows from her own experience that there is still a significant stigma attached to asking for or allowing support. We have come a long way but have a good distance to go to change this. WWC is a spectacular platform with a progressive and effective methodology to achieve this and Lane is so excited to be a part of it.
