Julian Chapman, Vice-Chairman

BGen Chapman joined the Canadian Forces in 1980. Beginning his military career in The Toronto Scottish Regiment as a Private, he commissioned from the ranks in 1982. Julian held appointments at 32 Canadian Brigade Headquarters as the Deputy Commander and the Assistant Chief of Staff.

In September 2008, he transferred to Land Force Central Area Headquarters as the Assistant Chief of Staff, Operations. From May 2009 to May 2011, he commanded 32 Canadian Brigade Group, the province’s largest army reserve brigade. During that time he was accountable for preparing soldiers for Task forces into Afghanistan, the G20 Summit and operations in the high Arctic.

On 26 May 2011, he was appointed as the Deputy Commander of Joint Task Force Central / Land Force Central Area. Concurrent with his military service, Julian joined Forrest & Company in 2002 after a stimulating career as a self-employed consultant, with clients such as Bombardier Aerospace and the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre.
