Dr. Paulo Matos, Clinical Advisor
Dr. Paulo Matos is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in British Columbia. Since 1995, he has pursued his passion for counselling by working with diverse populations including youth and adult offenders, people with severe mental illnesses, and couples and families.
Dr. Matos has a special interest in the areas of group counselling, trauma, and couples/family counselling. Since 2014, he has been involved in several organizations dedicated to improving the lives of military veterans and first responders who have experienced the effects of trauma and PTSD. These include COPE (Couples Overcoming PTSD Everyday), the Trauma Resiliency Program (TRP), and the Veterans Transition Program (VTP).
Dr. Matos received master’s degrees from Harvard University and the University of British Columbia and completed his Ph.D. at the University of Calgary. He also has extensive experience as an instructor in the Psychology and Counselling Psychology departments at several universities across Canada and the United States.
