WOUNDED WARRIORS CANADA NAMED BENEFICIARY OF SPARTAN’S RACE WEEKEND AT WHISTLER BLACKCOMB RESORT
Vancouver, BC – Wounded Warriors Canada (WWC) has teamed up with Spartan, becoming the primary beneficiary of the world’s largest obstacle course race (OCR) and endurance brand’s inaugural event weekend at British Columbia’s Whistler Blackcomb Resort September 14-15, 2019.
Scott Maxwell, Executive Director of Wounded Warriors Canada, commented, “We have created an innovative approach to mental healthcare that uses clincial best practices and evidence informed care to create an envrionment of compassion, resiliency and hope for Canada’s ill and injured Veterans, First Responders and their families. Our life-changing programs would simply not be possible without the support from caring and compassionate people like Joe De Sena and the Spartan team. We are honoured to be the charitable partner of Spartan’s Race Weekend at Whistler Blackcomb Resort and look forward to raising education, awareness and funds to support our mission.”
As part of the partnership, Spartan will provide Wounded Warriors Canada with opportunities for fundraising leading up to, and on-site during the event weekend.

Spartan’s Whistler event weekend features OCR distances and formats for athletes of all ages and skill levels including the five-km, 20 obstacle “Spartan Sprint,” 13-km “Spartan Super” and one-km to three-km “Spartan Kids” race for kids ages four to 13; along with a 10-k “Spartan Trail” race. The race is also one of seven events on the 2019 Spartan North American Mountain Series, which will see competitive athletes facing-off in the elite heat for prize money and ranking points.
