Canada 150th Anniversary Watch
This is Canada’s 150th anniversary and to celebrate the historical event; the Canada 150 watch with a striking Maple Leaf is being brought to you as a way for all Canadians to wear a piece of Canada’s heritage. In addition, we are proud to say that generous proceeds from the watch are being directed towards “Wounded Warriors Canada” in a tangible way to Honour the fallen and Help the living.and their families.
On September 18, 2006, a suicide bomber detonated a bomb near Kandahar City, Afghanistan. The blast killed four Canadian soldiers and grievously injured others – including several innocent civilians and children. When the dust had settled, three Canadian Military Engineers lay gravely wounded.
As they slowly healed in a military hospital in Germany, the outstanding care the dedicated medical staff provided to the wounded soldiers became clear. But it also became clear our troops needed more to assist in their recovery and rehabilitation. The idea to fill the gap quickly gained traction and Wounded Warriors Canada came into being.
In 2006, the fund was formally incorporated with its original intent to support Canadian Forces members wounded on operations and to improve the general morale and welfare of our injured soldiers and their families. The Fund has since grown to embrace First Responders injured while serving their communities.
Today – as our nation’s leading, and fully independent Veteran’s charity dedicated to the mental health of the uniformed services -Wounded Warrior-Canada continues its legacy of care and compassion. Its innovative and pioneering programming aimed at battling the challenges of PTSD betters the lives of ill and injured Veterans, First Responders and their families.
The Canada 150 watch is valued at approximately $220.00 but it is being offered for only $85.00 plus applicable taxes and postage. This striking watch with 24k gold plating, a Seiko Japanese movement and a leather strap which alone would retail for $40.00 is remarkable! The timepiece proudly incorporates the Maple Leaf on the watch face and Wounded Warrior Canada crest on the back of the watch.
In this, our 150th anniversary as a nation, what more fitting way is there to show your pride in Canada while also supporting our wounded Veterans, First Responders and their families, than through the purchase of a Canada 150 watch.
