Toronto, ON\u2014 L\u2019Initiative Enfants soldats de Rom\u00e9o Dallaire (initiative Dallaire) fait appel aux anciens combattants canadiens dans le cadre de sa lutte mondiale contre les enfants soldats avec le lancement du programme VTECS (Formateurs v\u00e9t\u00e9rans pour \u00e9radiquer le recours aux enfants soldats). Offert avec l\u2019appui de Wounded Warriors Canada, ce programme s\u2019appuiera sur les connaissances, l\u2019exp\u00e9rience et les id\u00e9es pr\u00e9cieuses des anciens combattants canadiens pour offrir une formation sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e pour emp\u00eacher de recours aux enfants soldats.<\/p>\n

Bas\u00e9 au foyer institutionnel de l\u2019Initiative Dallaire \u00e0 l\u2019universit\u00e9 Dalhousie, le programme VTECS dotera les anciens combattants canadiens avec des comp\u00e9tences et des connaissances sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es pour faciliter la mise en \u0153uvre du travail novateur de l\u2019Initiative Dallaire pour emp\u00eacher le recours aux enfants soldats. Les dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s du programme VTECS aideront \u00e0 pr\u00e9parer leurs pairs du secteur de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 pour leur rencontre avec des enfants soldats et renforcer leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 reconna\u00eetre et interrompre le recrutement.<\/p>\n
Le programme VTECS est possible gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un investissement de 175 000 $ de Wounded Warriors Canada vers son ann\u00e9e pilote en 2016. Les candidats s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s recevront une bourse qui couvre les frais de scolarit\u00e9, de d\u00e9placement et de chambre et pension associ\u00e9s au programme.<\/p>\n
