TORONTO<\/strong> \u2013 Registration for the 2019 Wounded Warriors Canada Battlefield Bike Ride \u2013 Operation Overlord opened yesterday at 12:00pm. To the surprise of organizers, the ride was sold out in the less than six hours with more than 100 Canadians from coast-to-coast registering in what was a flurry of activity and support. This set a new Battlefield Bike Ride record and further reinforced how much Canadians value the service and sacrifice of our Veterans and their families.<\/p>\n

Scott Maxwell, Wounded Warriors Canada Executive Director<\/strong>, commented, \u201cWe are humbled, thankful and honoured for the support we\u2019ve received from across the country. What we witnessed yesterday was an incredible display of care, compassion and support for our Veterans \u2013 past, present and future. For the next seven months our Battlefield Bike Ride team will raise awareness and funds to support our mental health programs benefiting ill and injured Veterans, First Responders and their families. When we come together next June, for seven days we will honour the service and sacrifice paid by Canadians in the face of tyranny.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

BBR19 \u2013 Operation Overlord<\/strong> builds on the life-changing experiences of our previous rides as we celebrate, commemorate and reflect on Canada\u2019s considerable contributions along the Normandy Coast in World War 2. BBR19 begins on May 30th on the Beaches of Dieppe where our group will pause and reflect at the fate of the Canadians during the misnamed Operation Jubilee. The ride concludes at Juno Beach on June 6th, 75 years after Canadians stormed the beaches of Normandy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
