TORONTO \u2014 Cerv\u00e9lo Cycles is taking its sponsorship of the Wounded Warriors Canada Battlefield Bike Ride to the next level.<\/p>\n

As it has done every year since 2012, Cerv\u00e9lo supports the inspiring fundraiser with volunteers and high-performance bicycle donations. This year, however, Cerv\u00e9lo is proud to unveil 10 donated C5 framesets that feature a unique paint job. Custom-designed to honour both the ride\u2019s mission and the heroes it helps \u2014 ill and injured Canadian Forces Members, Veterans, First Responders and their families \u2014 these collector\u2019s-edition framesets incorporate meticulous design details such as Wounded Warriors Canada\u2019s \u201cHonour the Fallen, Help the Living\u201d motto and #INTHISTOGETHER hashtag.<\/p>\n

The first C5 frameset is now available for purchase as part of a week-long auction that kicked off this morning. All funds raised through the sale of the C5 frames support Wounded Warriors Canada\u2019s national mental health programs and services. \u00ab\u00a0These heroes make sacrifices and risk their lives,\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>\u00a0said Robert de Jonge, Cerv\u00e9lo\u2019s Managing Director<\/strong>. \u00ab\u00a0So I speak for everyone at Cerv\u00e9lo when I say that our support for\u00a0Wounded Warriors Canada\u00a0is our way of saying thank you again and again.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The C5 framesets are yet another example of Cerv\u00e9lo\u2019s passion for sharing the positive effects of cycling on both body and mind, added Scott Maxwell, Executive Director of Wounded Warriors Canada. \u201cCerv\u00e9lo is the reason we were able to get involved in cycling. The company and its employees are deeply committed to health and wellness, and we are extremely grateful for their ongoing support.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

Cerv\u00e9lo Territory Manager Glen Innes<\/strong>, who acted as one of the Ride Directors of the BBR for the sixth consecutive year, agreed that there is a practical aspect to the company\u2019s involvement. \u00ab\u00a0If we can get more ill and injured Veterans and First Responders riding bicycles, we can aid them in their battles with Operational Stress Injuries.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n

The veterans who have seen the C5 frame are thrilled with it. \u201cWhat you have managed to pull off here is a million miles beyond brilliant,\u201d<\/em> said wounded vet Todd McGowan.<\/strong> \u201cThis is much more than a bike frame, and truly needs to be honoured as such.
