May 11, Quebec City – <\/strong>Wounded Warriors Canada is proud to unveil its official vest to be worn by graduates of the Wounded Warriors Canada\u2019s PTSD Service Dog program. The new vests will be distributed nationally and worn by every properly trained service dog paired with an ill and injured Veteran or First Responder.<\/p>\n

The all-black vest can be identified by the Wounded Warriors Canada logo on each side with the top of the vest emblazoned with the Canadian Flag.<\/p>\n

Phil Ralph, National Program Director of Wounded Warriors Canada<\/strong>, commented, \u201cToday marks the first of many of these ceremonies across the country that will see WWC Service Dog Vests placed on service dogs in Canada. This is more than just a vest but rather it is a tangible symbol reassuring Veterans, First Responders, Donors and the Canadian public that these dogs that change and save lives have been trained to the highest standards possible.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

ABOUT WOUNDED WARRIORS CANADA PTSD SERVICE DOG PROGRAM:<\/p>\n

The Wounded Warriors Canada PTSD Service Dog Program is a national program to increase the number of properly trained PTSD Service Dogs for ill and injured Veterans and First Responder population. WWC\u2019s announced February 2018 commitment to provide a minimum of 25 WWC PTSD Service Dogs this year continues to expand as our donors and partners have enabled us to directly reduce the number of Veterans and First Responders on our waitlist.<\/p>\n

Since 2012, Wounded Warriors Canada (WWC) has made significant investments, as a leading funder of PTSD Service Dogs. The preliminary results of the Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) funded efficacy study has reinforced and provided early clinical evidence of that which we knew to be imperially true: that properly trained PTSD Service Dogs can and do change and save lives.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
