TIVERTON<\/b>, ON\u00a0<\/b>\u2013 November 11, 2013 \u2013 To commemorate Remembrance Day, Bruce Power held a ceremony on its site today to honour Canada\u2019s fallen soldiers, while also presenting a $100,000 cheque to Wounded Warriors Canada.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153It takes courage and strength to provide the types of service these soldiers do for our country,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Duncan Hawthorne, President and CEO, Bruce Power. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153We hope this donation will make it a little easier for our wounded soldiers to transition back to civilian life.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

The money was raised earlier this year through Bruce Power\u2019s Supply Chain at its annual suppliers conference held in Collingwood. As a result, $200,000 in total was raised and was split equally among the Wounded Warriors Canada and United Way of Bruce-Grey.<\/p>\n

Wounded Warriors Canada is a non-profit organization that assists Canadian Forces members who have been wounded or injured in their service to Canada. The foundation provides assistance to transition the soldiers back to civilian life. The organization\u2019s primary focus is on mental health and learning to cope with the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153It takes courage and strength to provide the types of service these soldiers do for our country,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Duncan Hawthorne, President and CEO, Bruce Power. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153We hope this donation will make it a little easier for our wounded soldiers to transition back to civilian life.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>

The money was raised earlier this year through Bruce Power\u2019s Supply Chain at its annual suppliers conference held in Collingwood. As a result, $200,000 in total was raised and was split equally among the Wounded Warriors Canada and United Way of Bruce-Grey.<\/p>

Wounded Warriors Canada is a non-profit organization that assists Canadian Forces members who have been wounded or injured in their service to Canada. The foundation provides assistance to transition the soldiers back to civilian life. The organization\u2019s primary focus is on mental health and learning to cope with the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder.<\/p>
