STONEY CREEK, ON, Dec. 17, 2014 \/CNW\/ –\u00a0Wounded Warriors Canada is proud to announce that Harris Rebar has donated a total of $110,000 to the Charity in 2014.<\/p>\n

Harris Rebar set a goal to raise $100,000 over the course of 2014 to sponsor Wounded Warriors Canada’s donation \u2013 announced on February 28th<\/sup>\u00a0\u2013 to the Courageous Companions PTSD Service Dog program. Each of the company’s 22 divisions across Canada got behind the cause. \u00a0This strong local commitment has resulted in the total donation rising to $110,000. Harris Rebar is Canada’s largest rebar fabricator and their fundraising campaign was supported by their Canadian affiliates Fisher & Ludlow and Laurel Steel.<\/p>\n

Wounded Warriors Canada has become the national leader in funding animal assisted support programs for Canada’s ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members (serving and retired) and their families. Phil Ralph, National Program Director for Wounded Warriors Canada, commented, \u00ab\u00a0We remain committed to doing our part to help place these incredible service dogs with a serving or retired CAF member in need \u2013 no matter where they reside in Canada. The outstanding contribution of Harris Rebar not only sponsored our 2014 commitment to Courageous Companions in full, but will also contribute to our Service Dog funding in 2015.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

David Camozzi, President of Eastern Operations for Harris Rebar, an affiliate of Nucor Corporation, commented, \u00ab\u00a0All 22 divisions of Harris across Canada got behind the cause of supporting our veterans with a real grass roots effort. Our team led BBQ’s, yard sales, silent auctions, and bake sales to help us reach our collective goal. Harris Rebar is Canada's largest rebar fabricator and their fundraising campaign was supported by their Canadian affiliates Fisher & Ludlow and Laurel Steel.<\/p>

Wounded Warriors Canada has become the national leader in funding animal assisted support programs for Canada's ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members (serving and retired) and their families. Phil Ralph, National Program Director for Wounded Warriors Canada, commented, \"We remain committed to doing our part to help place these incredible service dogs with a serving or retired CAF member in need \u2013 no matter where they reside in Canada. The outstanding contribution of Harris Rebar not only sponsored our 2014 commitment to Courageous Companions in full, but will also contribute to our Service Dog funding in 2015.\"<\/p>
