TIVERTON, ON<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2013 Bruce Power and its partners in the nuclear supplier community celebrated a total of $1 million donated to Wounded Warriors Canada at its annual gala last week in Kincardine.<\/p>\n A total of $144,000 was raised this year for Wounded Warriors which was topped up to $170,000 thanks to personal donations and funds raised in a silent auction Thursday evening. An additional $26,000 was donated to 13 Royal Canadian Legion Branches across Bruce County.<\/p>\n \u201cSince 2012, Bruce Power has been supporting the life-changing mental health programs of Wounded Warriors Canada,\u201d<\/em> said Scott Maxwell, Executive Director, Wounded Warriors Canada<\/strong>. \u201cThe 2019 Gala was particularly special because, thanks to the support of Bruce Power and its suppliers, we reached $1 million donated to the charity \u2014 becoming the first $1 million donor in the history of Wounded Warriors Canada.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n This funding goes toward programs that assist with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), trauma recovery, education, job skills training, and veterans transitioning to civilian life.
