LCol(Ret\u2019d) Henry Foss (Harry) Hall is a graduate of Concordia University in Montreal and Land Forces Command and Staff College in Kingston. In 1969, he joined The Royal Montreal Regiment and had the opportunity to serve in Germany as a Reservist with 1R22eR in Lahr, West Germany in 1973 and in 1974 served with the United Nations Emergency Peacekeeping Force II (UNEFII) in Egypt and Israel.<\/p>\n
In 1975, he returned to The Royal Montreal Regiment and over the next fourteen years he assumed more responsible positions within the Battalion. LCol Hall was appointed Second-in-Command of the Regiment in 1987, a post he held until 1989 when he was appointed as the Commanding Officer. In 1991, during the second year of his command, the Regiment won The Sir Casmir Gzowski Trophy as the best Reserve Infantry Unit in Canada and the LGen S.C. Waters Trophy for Infantry Unit Small Arms Proficiency.<\/p>\n
In 1992 LCol Hall relinquished command of the Royal Montreal Regiment and was appointed G4 \u2013 Log & Admin at District No 1 du Quebec, later 34 Canadian Brigade Group, Land Forces Quebec. From 1993 until 1996, LCol Hall was a member of Directing Staff for the Militia Land Forces Command and Staff Course at the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College in Montreal and Kingston. In 1996 LCol Hall returned to the Royal Montreal Regiment for a second term as the Commanding Officer. Upon completion of his second term of command in June 1999, LCol Hall returned as Directing Staff for the Militia Land Forces Command and Staff Course.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In October 1999 LCol Hall was selected to be the first Canadian Army Reserve Officer to instruct at the US Army Command and General Staff College Course for Regular Army, Army Reservists and National Guard senior officers in Ft Dix New Jersey serving with the 12TH Bn (C&GC), 98TH Div (IT). In 2002, upon completion of his term of service LCol Hall transferred to the Land Forces Supplemental Ready Reserve effective February 2002.<\/p>\n
In 2004 LCol Hall was appointed Honorary Lieutenant Colonel of his Regiment and in 2008 he became the Honorary Colonel, the position in which he served until May 2013.<\/p>\n
In civilian life LCol Hall, devoted 29 years to Air Canada in Montreal primarily as a Supply Chain Professional, retiring in 2006 after 4 years as Vice President Supply Chain Management, Air Canada Technical Services. Immediately after leaving Air Canada LCol Hall changed industries and assumed a new challenge at Bruce Power as Vice President, Supply Chain, retiring for a second time in February 2017. LCol Hall lives in Pointe Claire, Quebec with his wife Anne Stephenson, close to his family and grandchildren. He is currently active consulting and in support of his Regimental Association, Legion and veteran\u2019s advocacy challenges.<\/p>\n
