Head Runner

Born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, Matt currently works for Personnel Support Programs with Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services. He has managed recreation, health, sport and fitness programs as well as large-scale special events at CFB Esquimalt for the past nine years. Matt has a BA in Recreation and Health Education as well is a Master of Education in Educational Psychology and Leadership Studies.

In 2020, this will be Matt’s third year coaching the Wounded Warrior Run BC Team as Lead Runner, and he is honored to contribute this year as Assistant Race Director. As a Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology Certified Personal Trainer, Matt is excited to once again offer his expertise and knowledge to the WWRBC team as they tackle the grueling physical and mental challenge of running down Vancouver Island for 8 days in winter to bring situational awareness to this amazing cause. Matt believes nobody with an operational stress injury should ever suffer in silence and is happy to support those who make the brave decision to seek out help.
