Martin Kenneally

Martin Kenneally is a retired Canadian Army senior officer with 32 years of professional military service that included missions and deployments to Afghanistan, South Korea, Haiti, Cyprus, the Former Yugoslavia and Israel among others. He has planned and executed operations along the entire spectrum from combat and training assistance security operations in Afghanistan to coordinating the humanitarian deployment of the CAF Disaster Assistance Response Team. He held a wide range of training and education roles from basic sniper course officer to bilingual Directing Staff at both Army and Joint staff colleges. He has held command appointments from platoon to unit level, most notably Commanding Officer of Third Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry in Edmonton from 2007-2009.

Directly upon leaving active service in 2013, he was appointed Senior Director of Security and Accreditation for the 2015 Pan Para Pan Am Games, a role requiring close coordination with all Federal Public Safety agencies and most of the Police, Fire and Ambulance Services in South Western Ontario. He was then appointed Director of Events at Canada’s largest events venue, Exhibition Place in Toronto. In 2016 he joined his wife in Vancouver, BC, and took on a new role in the healthcare contracted services sector as Regional Vice President-Western Canada for Compass Group Canada.

Martin is married to the lovely Kathleen Llewellyn-Thomas, a senior Public Service executive leader currently the General Manager of Community Services for the City of Vancouver. They have four adult children.

He is a passionate and serial volunteer for veterans’ transition and mental health initiatives. He is proud to join the Wounded Warrior Canada team as Western Canada Ambassador.
