The Hon. Dan McTeague
Born in Winnipeg Manitoba, Dan McTeague is a skilled and noted bilingual consumers advocate specializing in public affairs, media relations with special emphasis on identifying and managing emerging public/market issues.
He posses proven private and public experience to develop strategies aimed at addressing a wide-range of consumer and public challenges. While serving in Parliament, Dan successfully led a series of statutory initiatives for Consumer and Veterans Affairs, as well as Public Safety. Interceding and advocating on behalf of Canadians detained abroad were also areas of noted accomplishment.
Dan was first elected to Parliament in 1993 and served until May 2011. Dan served as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, tasked with protecting Canadians Abroad. Further, for nearly a decade he served as the Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology, spearheading legislative review and changes to Canada’s Competition, Copyright, Piracy, Patent, Pension, Bankruptcy, Privacy, Small Business and PayDay Loans Acts.
For over 20 years Dan has been an active member in the Veterans community and local Legion Branches. He is a Director for the Tony Stacey Centre for Veterans Care in Toronto and an Honorary member of the Treble Victor Group, devoted to advancing careers for Canada’s military personnel.
