Wounded Warriors.ca and CrossFit
Wounded Warriors.ca is proud to be named the official charity for the CrossFit Ontario Sectional Qualifier to be held at Moss Park Armoury in Toronto, Ontario on March 20-21, 2010.
“Fitness and the warrior spirit go hand in hand,” says Paul McIntyre the president of CrossFit Colosseum and the chief organizer of the Sectional Qualifier. He is also the Regimental Sergeant Major of the military unit hosting the event.
“This charity has done so much for our wounded troops that we’re just so proud of.”
CrossFit is an increasingly popular method to build whole-body functional fitness. It employs a combination of calisthenics, free weights, gymnastic rings, kettle bells and pull-up bars. The goal of CrossFit training is to create the “Quintessential Athlete” and is the basis of numerous military and first-response organizations across North America.
As part of the fundraising event, a commemorative Wounded Warriors.ca t-shirt has been designed by Robert Murdoch of Little Saint Communications. All proceeds will go to Wounded Warriors.ca.
The sectional qualifier prepares names for the Canadian Regional Qualifier and then out to the World Games. Registration begins at 5pm on March 19, 2010.
